FAQs

Do I receive a Home Test Kit?

Please note with UKlabs we do not supply a sample testing kit. Once your order is confirmed we will send you your personal account login details via email, advising of your next steps.

As a health and wellness company this virtual method is the best way to help combat the environmental issues we are seeing today.

What is a food intolerance test, and how does it work?

A food intolerance test is a diagnostic tool that helps identify food and non food items that may be a negative reaction in your body. Using our state of the art technology we can identify any factors which may be causing symptoms like bloating, headaches, and fatigue.

How accurate are food intolerance tests?

Here at UkLabs we calculate our accuracy levels by using our formula which incorporates satisfaction levels, accuracy and feedback from you the customer and other health professionals who use the service within their health companies. Our current accuracy score is 9.7 out of 10.

What types of foods can be tested for intolerance?

At UKlabs we have created our test to ensure all relevant foods and food groups are available to be tested. Unlike other test providers we pride ourselves on “no fillers”

Can a food intolerance test diagnose a food allergy?

No, a food intolerance test cannot diagnose a food allergy. Food allergies involve a different immune system response and can be life-threatening. If you suspect you have a food allergy, it’s important to see a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Will eliminating trigger foods identified by the test cure my symptoms?

Your results from our tests are to be used as a stepping stone on your health journey. Eliminating the trigger foods we identify will help you gain clarity on the next steps to feeling better.

Can children take food intolerance tests?

Children can take the test, and due to its less invasive nature it can provide an insight into any current digestive issues. Please note however, due to the quick evolving nature of  a child’s growth and development the results can change quickly. For this reason we do not test children under 6 years old. We would never substitute our test for the information and support provided from your local G.P

How do I know if a food intolerance test is right for me?

If you are experiencing persistent symptoms like bloating, fatigue, headaches, or skin irritation, and suspect that food may be contributing to these symptoms, a food intolerance test will be helpful.

Our food intolerance test measures 400+ items and is a comprehensive test that checks for reactions to a wide variety of foods and food components. This type of test may be helpful for people who have multiple food sensitivities or who are experiencing chronic or severe symptoms. Below we list categories we test.

Gluten items tested

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. It is commonly found in foods that are made with these grains or have them as an ingredient. Gluten can cause health problems for people with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease.

It is always best to check the ingredient list and allergen information on food labels or to consult with a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian if you have questions or concerns about your diet.

Lactose items tested

Lactose is a sugar found in milk and other dairy products. It is broken down by the enzyme lactase in the small intestine. People with lactose intolerance have low levels of lactase, which can cause digestive problems when they consume lactose-containing foods.

Here are 20 common food items that may contain lactose:

  • Milk
  • Cheese
  • Yogurt
  • Butter
  • Cream
  • Ice cream
  • Whipped cream

It is always best to check the ingredient list and allergen information on food labels or to consult with a healthcare provider or a registered dietitian if you have questions or concerns about your diet.

Non Food Items Tested

Intolerance to non-foods can cause a range of uncomfortable and sometimes serious symptoms. These can be triggered by a variety of substances that are not typically classified as foods, including medications, chemicals, and environmental allergens.

Symptoms can vary widely and may include skin rashes, respiratory issues, digestive problems, and more. It is important to identify and avoid triggers for non-food intolerance’s to minimise the risk of serious health complications. In this section, we will explore some of the most common intolerance’s to non-foods and provide strategies for managing them.

Vitamin & Mineral Imbalance Test

Vitamin and mineral imbalances can occur when an individuals body does not have the necessary amounts of specific nutrients required for optimal functioning. These imbalances can result in a range of symptoms and health issues, from fatigue and weakness to brittle bones and anemia. Testing for vitamin and mineral imbalances can help individuals identify and address any deficiencies or excesses they may have.

Common vitamin imbalances include:
